Dit afstudeeronderzoek bevat de zoektocht naar de invloed van instructies op mijn klasmanagement tijdens de lessen biologie of natuurwetenschappen in de tweede graad van het secundair onderwijs. Onder klasmanagement verstaat men alle maatregelen die een leerkracht moet nemen om een krachtig en positief leerklimaat te vormen waarin zowel leerlingen als leerkracht succeservaringen kunnen opdoen. Tijdens mijn stages van vorig schooljaar ontdekte ik dat mijn lessen vaak niet goed verliepen doordat mijn klasmanagement echt niet goed was. Tijd om actie te ondernemen dacht ik. Dit heb ik gedaan met dit afstudeeronderzoek. Drie hoofdstukken brengen mij ertoe om te besluiten dat instructies een grote invloed hebben op mijn klasmanagement. In het eerste hoofdstuk onderzoek ik door een vergelijking van verschillende omschrijvingen wat klasmanagement is. In het tweede hoofdstuk spits ik me toe op instructies. Zowel het inhoudelijke als het geven van instructies komen hier aan bod. Ook de innovatieve expliciete directe instructie wordt hier besproken.
